Hi, I'm Naila Ahmed

Coaching Psychologist & Positive Psychology Practitioner. Many people are managing full lives, carrying responsibility, and doing what’s expected, yet feel a growing sense that something isn’t quite right. My work focuses on helping people reconnect with themselves - their values, strengths, sense of direction, and sense of meaning so they can experience a more grounded and sustainable sense of wellbeing and happiness.

  • Identity and sense of self
  • Values and strengths
  • Meaning and purpose
  • Emotional wellbeing and clarity

How I Work

There was a point where I found myself asking a simple but difficult question:

When does life actually start to feel good?

From the outside, everything can look as though it is working. You continue to move forward, meet expectations, and do what is required, but underneath, something doesn’t feel quite right.
For a long time, I thought happiness was something you reached eventually — once I get the new job, once I get through this month, once I pass the exam, once things finally settle into place.
But that never quite happened.

Work Experience with Individuals & Groups

My work has included:

  • Supporting individuals through coaching
  • Working across education, charity, and public sector settings
  • Supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, human trafficking, trauma, and mental health challenges
  • Delivering workshops and wellbeing-focused programmes
  • Working with diverse communities, including displaced individuals and university students
  • Facilitating workshops and programmes internationally, including in Jordan

These experiences continue to shape how I approach this work.

Professional Background & Research

I hold a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP) and am an EMCC Accredited Coach (Practitioner level), working in line with the Global Code of Ethics.

Alongside my practice, I have developed a particular interest in how wellbeing is understood and experienced across different cultural contexts.

My research focused on happiness and wellbeing in the Middle East, exploring how meaning, identity, values, and cultural context shape people’s experience of happiness.

As part of this work, I developed a coaching programme grounded in evidence-based research, designed to reflect these cultural perspectives in a way that feels relevant, respectful, and practical.

The Turning Point

Through my own experiences, alongside years of working with individuals in education, charities, and government settings, I began to notice something.

But many were also overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsure of themselves beneath the surface — continuing with daily life, but feeling as though something of themselves had been lost along the way. At the same time, when I went on to study Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology at Masters level, I saw something else.

There was a gap

Research was telling us important things about wellbeing, meaning, and happiness — but it often wasn’t reaching people in a way that felt real, practical, or accessible. In practice, many people were struggling in ways that weren’t being fully understood or supported. It felt like two worlds that weren’t properly speaking to each other.

My Approach

My approach is grounded in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology.

The work is reflective, structured, and practical — designed to help people understand themselves more clearly and move forward in a way that feels right for them.

For me, this work is not about quick fixes or surface-level change.
It is about helping people move from simply getting through life
to feeling more connected, clear, and grounded in how they are living it.

"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.”
